There is a simple explanation to why the boy returned to school and he was 4 inches taller than the friends who were the same height before summer. Growth Spurt! Most boys have their growth spurt from ages 10-16 years of age. Every body is different and they will grow at different paces. But the average is around that age. The pituitary gland releases hormones that notify the body that new changes are going to happen. Some symptoms of growth spurt are : Increased appetite, changes in sleep patterns, and behavioral changes. The amount of inches a person grows depends on their genes.

The seventh graders are about 12 to 13 age. At the age of 12 kids are still growing the process of ossification is continuing to produce new bones. Ossification proces begins at the embryo and it continues to take place until the age of 25 years old. Ossification is divided into two parts, intramembranous ossification and endochondral ossification. Intramembranous ossification is the development from fibrous membrane, it develops bones of the scur, mandible and clavicle bones.
Endochondral ossification develops the rest of the bones of the body.The height of the seventh grader came from the endochondral ossification. It develops the long bones and stimulate bone growth. In endochondral ossification develop from hyaline cartilage. The lengthening of bones occur at the diaphysis and epiphysis region which is responsible for the length of the bones. Therefore could be the development process of bones in the young boy was faster than the rest of the kids. That’s why he was taller than others
